The Mag 5 was well represented at the 23rd annual Keyesville Classic by none other then our own Special Ed Paulsen. As you know Ed always goes big, entering all 3 events; 8 mile XC, Short Track and Downhill events.
Nice shirt Ed, how much did that cost?
Saturday's XC race was a one 8 mile sprint around the Keyesville Classic track, with Ed smiling as he pulls the holeshot. Steady Eddie...it's a long race...and it was as Ed let a few fast guys by.
Sunday's Short Track was about 1 mile loop, 8 lap sprint. Ed again started fast and picked off a few riders at the end to a 3rd in class and 8th overall. Ed would later say he was totally gassed and just needed a cup of coffee and some more chew.
The final event was the downhill time trail. Pooher, Art & Ed did a pre-run on Saturday and there was a tricky drop-off into the trees, heavily padded for the impending crash to come. The guy pre-running ahead of us crashed and cracked his helmet, a sure sign of things to come. Bad weather forced Pooher and Art to leave before Ed's race but did not disappoint winning his class.
Great job Ed!
